A Start
The Internet is an overwhelming place.
With so much content to sort through and so many resources to make use of, most people never use the Internet to its full potential. They settle for quick Google searches with a few keywords and some simple Boolean logic. But given the right tools and some training, an individual can find exactly what they are looking for. You'll even find yourself coming across information that is completely relevant but that you never knew existed.
As an information professional, I have a strong background in different searching methods and I know where to go for the different types of searches I need to perform. I know how important this training has been for me and so I know how valuable it can be for others. In this blog I will post entries that give some simple tips that will help enhance your ability to search for data, how to synthesize that data into information and how to use that information to empower yourself. I will also provide reviews of some common (and maybe a few obscure) tools that you may be interested in using in the future.
